Since yesterday you can find two buttons in the editor on the project tab to download a parts list and a drawing of your layout.
Click the clipboard and you see the parts list straight away, with all the components used on the layout. You can print the list directly.
Click the download button to generate a PDF with your track plan and the part numbers. The plan is neatly split by level, so you can read each section clearly as you build it.
But alongside these summaries, we are working behind the scenes on something really worthwhile: the TRAX Build Plan.
What is the TRAX Build Plan?
The TRAX Build Plan is a complete set of custom documentation with everything you need to build your dream layout. Think of:
- A clear step-by-step plan for construction.
- A description for each phase, in which we pay special attention to elements that are crucial to your unique design, full of helpful tips and extra information.
- A complete track plan, build drawings for all parts of your baseboard, a worked-out landscape map and clear wiring and connection diagrams.
- A 1:1 drawing of your track plan and a handy cutting file (DXF) for your baseboards.
Modify your layout in the future? You can regenerate the plan free of charge and without restriction. The finished documentation set will cost €29.95 per project (one time only) — with 50% discount for active TRAX enthusiasts (see 'Community Credits').
Join as a tester!
To put the finishing touches in place, I am looking for ten testers who want to review the Build Plan for their own project and give me feedback.
As a tester you receive a free Build Plan for your project. This plan remains yours after the testing period, which means you can continue to develop the layout and keep generating new versions. In exchange I ask for honest, constructive feedback on your experience and any suggestions or ideas you may have.
